The Sandusky County Share and Care Center is a clothing thrift shop located at 129 Bidwell Avenue in Fremont, Ohio. Open to the public, Share and Care accepts donations of used clothing and household items. The center also provides emergency prescription, rent, food and utility assistance and new blankets and shoes to those with demonstrated need. Share and Care is a United Way agency.
Share and Care is the Fremont Salvation Army Unit. We bellring for donations, and then distribute the donations to our community. Share and Care partners with the Fremont Ministerial Association and St. Vincent De Paul. Both groups contribute financially to assist residents.
Sandusky County Share and Care also has a pet food bank that helps with cat and dog food. We also have a mailbox with free Bibles.
The center is staffed by volunteers from 16 Sandusky County area churches. In addition to the rotating staff from the churches, there is a dedicated core of volunteers who report to work each week serving the needs of their fellow Sandusky County residents.

"Acknowledging that our deepest call is to serve God by following Christ's example, the members of Sandusky County Share and Care Center endeavor to provide low-cost or free clothing, shoes, prescription medication, and other charitable services to those in need in Sandusky County. We do so in a spirit consonant with Matthew 25:37-40."

During 2017, the Center gave:
Free new pairs of shoes to 116 children
No Cost Uniforms/Supplies to 132 children
Free new blankets for 5 individuals
Diaper Packs for 31 children
Misc Assistance to 805 people; valued at $5,060
Free Bags of items to 220 individuals/families
Prescriptions to 20 individuals; valued at $546
Rent and utility assistance to 500 individuals; Total $22,578.67
Furniture distributed to 37 individuals at no cost/45 items valued at $2,220
The Center also helped:
...Sandusky County Food Pantry distribute to 1,138 individuals/families.
...Salvation Army distribute $19,132
to 303 people plus 60 individuals receive $625 Aldi Grocery Assistance.
...Fremont Ministry Association distribute $9,808 to 226 people.
...St. Vincent De Paul distribute $14,814 to 566 people and $1,365 in gas cards and
$175 in food vouchers.
...Sandusky County Pet Bank distribute 42 bags/boxes of pet food.
Total value of all combined services for 2017 was $84,032 in overall assistance.
This was accomplished with a total of 6,948 Volunteer Hours for the year,
one full time Executive Director and one part-time staff member, hired in July.
